When Progress Slows...

When Progress Slows...

Micah isn’t doing great. His numbers are moving in the wrong direction, and a lot of his care has been painfully slow. He’s a complicated patient with a long list of comorbidities, and at this point he needs a higher level of care than what he’s getting right now.

We’re actively working to transfer him to another facility, one that can move faster and handle how complex his situation is. This isn’t a small task, and it comes with its own set of hurdles, but it’s necessary.

He still desperately needs a transplant. That hasn’t changed. Getting there, though, means clearing a lot of obstacles first, and right now it feels like we’re jumping them one at a time while the ground keeps shifting. He responds much better when he's hooked up to the dialysis machine, though!

This is one of those moments where hope and realism are existing in the same room, and neither is winning. We’re pushing forward anyway.

Please keep Micah in your thoughts. We’re not done fighting. He's one stubborn cookie, that's for sure.
